Letting visitors add their own answer
Sometimes your list of choices will not cover everyone. With a custom answer, visitors can pick an extra choice and type in their own reply.
How to turn it on
- Select the Poll block.
- In the block settings, open Answer settings.
- Turn on Allow custom answer.
An extra choice now appears at the end of your poll with a text box.
Related settings
- Custom input label: the name of the extra choice. It is Other by default, but you can change it to something like Something else.
- Require text when selected: when this is on, visitors who pick the extra choice must type an answer before they can vote.
Typed answers can be up to 500 characters. In the results, all custom answers are counted together under the extra choice, and you can read individual replies in the Recent Votes list on the poll’s results screen.
