Closing a poll
When you have collected enough answers, you can close the poll. A closed poll stops accepting votes, but all of its results are kept.
- Select the Poll block.
- Open Poll state messages in the block settings.
- Set Status to Closed.
- Update the post.
Choose what visitors see
The When poll is closed setting controls what visitors see after you close the poll:
- Disable inputs: the poll stays visible, but the choices can no longer be selected. A closed banner is shown.
- Hide the poll: the poll disappears from the page. It still exists in your library with its results.
- Show poll result: visitors see the final results instead of the voting form.
Closed banner message
When inputs are disabled, a banner explains that the poll is closed. The default text is This poll is closed. You can change the wording in Closed banner message, and its colors under Color > Closed poll.
To open the poll again, set Status back to Open. Voting continues and new votes are added to the existing totals.
